A total of 187 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost's List honors for the spring 2016 semester. To qualify for the Provost's List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more. Local athletes competed on the 2016-17 SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team.

The State University of New York at Potsdam will recognize more than 1,000 candidates for graduation during the College's 2017 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 20. The SUNY Potsdam Class of 2017 will be awarded baccalaureate and master's degrees at the ceremony.

Phi Sigma Gamma Sigma is the national honor society in Biology.

Twenty-nine SUNY Oneonta students were inducted into SUNY Oneonta's chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society, this semester.

Artwork by 73 students is featured in SUNY Oneonta's 2017 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. On display through May 13 at the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery in the college's Fine Arts Center, the exhibition features more than 100 works by student artists. Featured artworks were chosen from an open jury process and works entered by the art faculty. Painting, drawing, sculpture, digital print, digital video and an assortment of mixed media make up this year's offerings.

A total of 192 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2016-2017 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. Student award winners receive a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Florian Reyda, professor of biology, will deliver this year's Susan Smith Lecture titled, "Parasites, Evolution and Us," at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the Otsego Grille of the Morris Conference Center on campus.

The Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Conference, held March 30, is a premier annual event at The University of Alabama that provides students with the opportunity to highlight their research or creative activity. In addition to bringing attention to the outstanding work being done by UA's undergraduates, the conference allows students to gain experience presenting, become eligible for cash prizes, and form relationships with faculty mentors and fellow conference presenters. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least 3 courses for a conventional letter grade earn the fall Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.

SUNY New Paltz greek organizations induct new members for the Fall and Spring 2016 semesters.

A total of 11,758 students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean's List for the Fall Semester 2016. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

More than 300 students met requirements for graduation from SUNY Oneonta following the Fall 2016 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. They also are eligible to participate in the college's commencement on May 13.

SUNY New Paltz announces its Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester, a recognition for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

A total of 200 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost's List honors for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify for the Provost's List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Over sixty Ithaca College students were honored with the Peggy R. Williams Award for Academic and Community Leadership, an award recognizing students who excel academically, perform service to the college community and nation, and represent an exemplary level of accomplishment.
